Hey Marine, have you replaced your cat yet? I've replaced the 02 sensors twice, last time at 120K and now at 135K I'm getting a P0420 code. I burn only Chevron Supreme. Wondering how long the normal life of the cat is and what options there are for replacements. Have you gone there?

No not even close yet. I get a "G" ride so my Jazz only has 55,000 Km on it. I have never read anything about expected life but was under the impression that emissions parts are warrantied forever?
There are a bunch of replacement cats but the question is do you have to pass testing way up there?

No, no testing and guess what, Magnaflow makes a cat for the Fit. I will attempt to get the code to go away and if it won't I will likely put new Denso 02 sensors in it with a Magnaflow cat. Made a nice sound and performance difference in my '99 Dakota 5.2. We don't get rust up here the same way the rest of the world does, but that's changing now that the planet is warming up and they are using salt in the spring/fall up here for the first time. So hopefully replacing the cat will not result in use of a Sawzall.

For sure no salty roads make a big difference. I had a magnaflow muffler on my Suzuki and liked it fine. Knock wood no O2 sensor problems for me yet.

Turned out that my Chevron owner had a batch of bad gas. Made my Fit flash a code as well as my '99 Dakota. Went away with next tank of gas. I feel like some kind of pariah...150K miles and no unusual issues, coil packs included; no misfires. Only issue is sticky clutch pedal which I have narrowed down to worn clutch fork.

That is an awesome record. Alas I picked up a rock crack in my windshield. Strange there were no cars in front of me or beside me can't figure out where it came from.

I believe the front tire tread throws a stone out forward with a spin and it richochets up to the windshield as the car speeds forward. Have had the same thing happen.

At 195K miles I have been getting an occasional cat code, so finally replaced the OEM with a Magnaflow 49-state model. Used a propane torch on the nuts attaching it to the resonator pipe and they all broke loose, thank God.

Well that is good news. And pretty well built system to go almost 200,000 miles before replacement.
