Default 2012 Bangkok Auto Salon

Went to the show today and it was pretty good.

The beginning sorry for the crazy looking shots but there were a BUNCH of high powered spot lights everywhere and they drove my camera NUTS.

The best part $3.00 to get in and got a free J's racing catalog the bad news got home and saw it was all in JAPANESE . But I can look at the photos and see the yen prices and extrapolate to USD.

Right in the door SPOON booth. The bad news is they wanted $25.00 for a Eat Sleep Race "T" shirt.

GE had RS logo on the back

GE Spoon painted GE valve cover 20,000 yen he thought.

Spoon brake pads

I was talking to a guy in the booth asking him about stuff and asked if he could take the yellow valve cover out of the plastic bag it was in so I could get a shot to put on our website and he said sure. I asked him about reground or new cams for the Jazz/Fit but he said NOPE.

Then later when I was leaving I saw that they had a little TV setup and the guy I had been talking to was SPOON'S HEAD MECHANIC Tsuyouhi Hara.

MODULO had a booth with a race car from a local racing series.

I asked if they would open the hood so I could shoot the engine because they don't use the stock engines in them BUT she laughed and said yes they change the engine but this car was for show only and had no engine in it today

They also had their RM Z1 GE there.

Nice wheels

Logo

Another local GE builder JAKERO'S had a car there

OK that's all the JAZZ/Fit stuff.

CRZ

Some of the cars on display.

HUGE turbos.

Couple of Ferraris. Got to sit in one but had nobody to take my photo

K-20 600+ horsepower for sale $18,000 YIKES.

Couple of GTrs

HUGE SPOILER.

All in all not a bad smallish show. But I couldn't find any shops that sell CF wrapping vinyl or a new Japanese claybar. But I did get a complete guide to Modding the Fit/Jazz. Thick book with lists and lists of parts and body kits for the Jazz/Fit. It was $48.00 WOW almost put it back but asked the guy how much and he said $3.00 so I grabbed it.

And for Mike Macbuddy NGK does make a racing plug that is side-gapped. Sorry no photo saw them on the way out and my battery had run out. The BAD new is they are $38.00 a set of four. The ground electrode comes in from the side and points at the top edge of the center electrode not going right over it.

Now I know why NGK plugs are popular here saw this on a big ad logo

baNGKok

OK Lady members if you do NOT want to look at a couple of photos of "Show girls" on display DO NOT GO FARTHER

For the guys here are a couple. Stupid camera was going nuts from the spotlights.

Default Nice pictures!

Looks like those plugs would be hard to gap. Once they wear down, there's not much side electrode to play with. I guess the racers don't worry about that though, they just grab a brand new set.
$38 a set isn't that bad, I think I paid more than that for a set of Denzo IK22s.
BTW, no worries about failing to get pictures of the "Racing Plugs." I'm just glad you ran out of batteries AFTER the last few snapshots!

Skittle yea that is about what it looks like but it's a separate model and has the same engine as the new GE Fits.

Mike yea they are like me and just throw them away. I thought about getting a set but I buy cheap NGKs for about $2.50 a pop in bulk buys and really think any difference would be miniscule and couldn't justify the price for a set.

My plan was to hang around and get lots of show girls when they came out and did their little acts around the cars BUT by then my battery was flat. The camera was a last minute decision and I didn't charge it up the night before. BUT the day this show ends (July 1 ) the drift cars are going to be brought outside and be putting on shows drifting around and I MAY go to that one.

The Omaha car show has as many male spokes-models as females, and neither are Japanese porn stars. That's quite the car show you have there!
