Default Paint Blotches

My white 2010 Fit Sport has developed 4 white blotches on the drivers door and another 2 on the rear passenger door. They are about 2" in diameter and look like somebody took sandpaper and made circles? I took it to a Florida Honda dealer and the Zone Rep set up an appt. to see my Fit and then missed his appt? I'll now wait until I get back to my selling dealer in Elkhart, IN. to see if they'll do anything or am I stuck with a blotchie painted Fit?

Are there any other similar paint issues here in Fit-land?

Haven't heard of anything like that concerning Fits. Welcome aboard.

Thanks for your quick response and I cannot find any Fit paint problems like mine either. I know a few Fit owners have complained about the paint chipping easily and I agree with that assessment but my problem looks like the paint will be down to the bare primer in a few months. It is a leased Fit and I was intending on buying it at lease-end but not with paint problems. I love our Fit but if they don't fix the blotches, I'll turn my Fit in a lease-end and look for a Ford Focus or Chevy? I have one yr. left so no hurry to make a decision yet. At least I've notified Honda properly so they can't come back at me at lease-end and blame me for this bad paint problem and try to add charges to my final bill!

Update on the paint blotches on our white Fit. We took it to our home dealer in Elkhart, Indiana and rather then wait for a Zone Rep to look it over and make a decision to paint, rub-out, deny liability, etc. They took it back to their paint shop and had their expert bodyshop person put a power buffer to work on the blotches. Happy to report they all came out perfectly!

They surmise the blotches were on at delivery and we just didn't see them as they blended in and well hidden. Perhaps the factory spotted something during their inspection and did some poor buffing work? Doesn't matter as it's all taken care of and we're once again "Happy Fit Owners!"

That is good news. Johnsons used to make a paste wax for white cars and I used it on my old suzuki and it was great. But I haven't see any around for awhile.

I tried 3 or 4 polishes as well and nothing did much good. It took a powerful buffer and someone that knew what they were doing. I don't know what material they used but believe it was a fine rubbing compound?

On a side note: We drove from Elkhart, IN. to a western Chicago suburb (about 140 miles) and got 40.1 mpg according to the mileage gauge on our Fit. That's the best we've ever done and we ran the AC and averaged about 65 - 70 mph most of the way.

More great news about the Fit. That is very good mileage for A/C use and at those speeds.

Drove Fit from Tampa, Florida to Chicago and back. Averaged right at 40MPG doing 70MPH and using the AC 90% of the round trip. We were very surprised and we got 46MPG on one tankful in which we had to drive slower due to a long construction stretch.

Rode along side a new 2015 Fit and it's really sharp. Wife wants to maybe look at a trade but our Fit is near new with only 36,000 miles on the clock.

That is AWESOME mileage I don't think I ever saw anybody get 46 in a GE.

Used to make the run from CT. to FLA before 95 was there using the old route 301 now that was a road trip LOL.
