Default Can I put 185/65r14 tires on a 2009 Honda Fit

First, I know nothing about tires or cars, so apologies if this is a stupid question.

Recently got a 2009 Honda Fit (not sport) which currently has 175/65r15 tires on it. This was to replace a 95 Saturn which died shortly after I got new tires (185/65r15) put on. Since the 185/65r15 tires are in better shape I was wondering if it's possible to put them on the Fit.

Any advice or comments or explanations of what the sizes mean would be most welcome, thanks.

The short answer is yes you can. BUT check for rubbing a bit. The 15 is the rim size the r means radial the 65 is the sidewall height and the 185 is the width. There may be a slight running slower of your speedometer (reads slower than correct) if the circumference is bigger than the 175 ones.

If your Saturn rims have the same bolt pattern. You may be able to mount your Sarurn wheel/tire combo as is. We used a set of Saturn "sawtooth" wheels on our AutoX Fit. That rim had the same bolt pattern, 4X100, and the offset was close, at 50mm. BTW, if you have the "sawtooth" rims, they are lighter than the OEM rims.

i punched in your sizing in this web site http://www.rimsntires.com/specs.jsp It looks like you will be ok, the tire is .4 inches wider then the 175s and in turn ends up being .4 inches taller. That is such a small change I feel confident in saying you will not have any problems
