Default What did you do to the Fit/Jazz today

this type thread seems pretty popular on other sites so lets start one here.

I will start it off. Washed my car and the weather looked great so I drove down the the local store and went inside........... came out about 15-20 minutes later to find my freshly washed car covered in beads of water

It seems to have rained JUST in the area of the store. Drove toward home and less than two minutes down the road IT WAS BONE DRY it had never rained anywhere else than the area of the store.

Looks like I must have made the guy in the sky angry about something

So back home and ANOTHER wash and wipe down but lucked out and didn't have to do the wheels or wheelwells because there was only enough rain to get the body wet and driving home the wheels stayed clean.

Shopping for a new battery as my stock one is dead. Looked at AC Delco, Motolite, Optima and Odyssey. Will go to Honda and see if they have those factory batteries for replacement.

Default The Things I did...

INJECTOR CLEANER
Not sure why my mileage has dropped from ~35-37mpg down to the ~30-32mpg range. I chalked it up to "Winter blend" fuel. Anyway, I dumped some injector cleaner in there. This usually helps.

INTAKE MANIFOLD COVER
Last Summer, I got an idea after reading one of claymore's posts. Instead of drilling holes into my intake manifold cover to get more ventilation, I figured I'd just take it off completely. I had been running that way until about 2 months ago. Upon reinstalling it, my mileage coincidentally plummeted. I don't see how that would have affected the mileage, but I removed it again anyway. Running without it didn't seem to hurt the performance any, so off it goes for good.

TIRE PRESSURE
For tire pressure, I was running 30psi/25psi. Because mrs. macbuddy continues to complain about the ride, I lowered the psi to 25psi/23psi. I took it for a spin. Noticeably smoother! I think she'll like it! Heck, I like it!

WINDSHIELD WASHER FLUID
It's been raining quite often lately, so I decided to top-off the windshield washer fluid. I was going to top-off the rear fluid reservoir as well, but I couldn't find it! WTF, where is it?
I opened up my "Gifted" 2007 Service Manual (thanks manxman! ). Doh! The GD3 doesn't have a "rear reservoir!" It draws the fluid from the one and only front reservoir. A tube runs up along the right "A" pillar, then continues along the right edge of the roof line, all the way back to the rear windshield washer nozzle. BTW, I added some Rain-X treatment to the mix.

My previous 3 cars ( Ford Escort, Toyota Corolla & Subaru) each had only one reservoir, so I never even considered there would be a rear one? Which cars have a rear reservoir?

sooznd, I know of at least one vehicle that has a rear reservoir. I have an '86 VW Vanagon. The a rear washer reservoir is found inside the van. There is a big black plastic cap that juts out of the wall on the passenger side. It is located inside the side panel just behind the rear seat.
The front reservoir was the tricky one to find. That one is hidden under the carpet, where the driver's left foot normally rests. I had to call Volkwagen for that one.

I have not done much to my car except take it to the car wash to get the ice and snow off.
Waiting for the weather to be nice and warm so I can put on my neoprene front seatcovers & pedal covers.
One of the little plastic arms on the secret compartment had broken, so I finally replaced the cap to the compartment.

Some nasty bird deposited a load on my car just above the gas flap. Must have been flying as the roof to my car parking area is only about 7 ft tall and there is nothing in the area for it to be perched on. So some water and a soft towel got rid of the mess.
